About the class
Studio Lighting 102 is here!
In this course, a second light will be brought in and we focus on learning unique ways to modify your light with grids and gels. We will also learn about different techniques to fill shadows and bounce light. Most importantly, we will be talking about how to find inspiration and build your own personal style.
In Lighting 102, we will be building upon the strong foundation we built in Lighting 101. If you did not attend 101, please don’t let that discourage you from coming to class! However, it is imperative that you have an entry-level understanding of working with your camera/studio stands/strobe lighting.
By the end of Studio Lighting 102, you’ll leave with lots of new lighting knowledge and some new tricks up your sleeve ;)

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Sammy Allen, a seasoned photographer with a decade of practice under her belt, is an artist whose photography does much more than capture moments. With a focus on the interplay of light and shadow, Sammy’s work embodies an attention to detail and an understanding of the nuances of lighting. She uses this skill not merely as a tool, but as a language to articulate narratives and evoke emotions within her imagery.
Sammy’s not only a creative photographer here in Phoenix, but a lighting tech, studio hand, film developer and now educator. She loves to travel, read, and hang with her cat Heart.
